If you need to sign up for the Payroll Distribution Program (Payroll Card) with Nusenda Credit Union, please visit any of their Branch locations. More information regarding the Payroll Distribution Program can be found on Nusenda Credit Union's website.


In response to a changing environment, UNM Payroll is going green and eliminating paper checks. As of April 2, 2012, all UNM employees must be enrolled in Direct Deposit. UNM Policy 2620: Distribution of Pay


UNM Employees have the ability to designate which financial institution(s) you want to receive your pay via the LoboWeb Self-Service portal. You may select fixed payment amounts at different institutions with a mandatory amount of the remainder (100% of Remaining) going to one banking institution.

Direct Deposit with the financial institution of your choice

  • Please note, deposits CANNOT be sent to a Debit Card, Wire Transfer Account or International Banks.
  • Enrolling in Direct Deposit is easy after you have received your Bank Account and Routing number from the financial institution of your choice.
  • You may sign up for Direct Deposit as follows:

Payroll Distribution Program (Payroll Card)

  • Don’t want a bank account? You can still have Direct Deposit with a Payroll Card through Nusenda Credit Union. This is not a membership account; however you will still receive an Account and Routing number. Your credit will not be checked. You must have a valid government issued photo ID to enroll. They accept ITINs.
  • You will have access to your funds in multiple ways: Withdraw any portion of your funds, up to 100%, at any Nusenda Credit Union branch.
  • Withdrawal up to $500.00 a day with your Payroll Card at over 175 CU Anytime ATMs.
  • To sign up for the Payroll Distribution Process, please visit any Nusenda Credit Union Branch locations.

UNM employees now have the ability to sign up for Direct Deposit online

    • Go to myUNM > Select "Staff," then select direct deposit piggy bank icon. 
    • Log in using Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for an additional layer of security. Instructions for Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).
    • Once you have entered the Direct Deposit Allocation page you will have a choice of depositing 100% of your pay into one account or to disburse your pay into additional accounts as fixed amounts. These accounts can be savings or checking accounts as long as a 100% of net pay has been identified first.
    • Paper forms will no longer be accepted.
      • Your department should instruct you to use the online self-service pages to start or for any changes you may have to your accounts.
      • We will no longer accept paper direct deposit forms, meaning no faxes, emails or drop offs are allowed.
    • If you have a change to any of your accounts these must be completed and saved via self-service no fewer than 4 business days before a pay date.
    • Online information must be complete with a valid bank routing number, bank account number, and a minimum of one “100% of Remaining” bank account.

Direct Deposit

Enter the Bank Routing Number

  • If you haven’t done so already, follow the instructions to log in to Direct Deposit Allocation pages under the “Direct Deposit Instructions” section of this website
  • Once you have entered the Self-Service Direct Deposit Allocation pages > Select “Update Direct Deposit Allocation” link
  • Enter a valid Bank Routing Number of your "100% of Remaining" first.  (You can add fixed amounts after this required account is set up.)
    • The routing number is located at the bottom of the check placed next to your account number and check number. The order of the routing number, account number, and check number can differ based upon the banking institution.
    • You can find this by referring to the numbers in blue in the sample check below.
    • If you receive a message that your bank is not valid or the Bank Name is not correct or does not populate, please contact Payroll.
    • Tips:
      • Bank Routing Numbers are 9 digits long.
      • Routing Numbers are not the same thing as a wire transfer number.
      • Depending on the size of the bank, some banks have multiple routing numbers.

Add Allocation

Enter your Bank Account Number

  • You can find your unique Bank Account Number by referring to the numbers in pink in the sample check above.
  • This number is a unique number that designates your Bank Account number where you intend us to send your funds.
  • Please enter your full account number, including any leading zeros and omitting any special characters or spaces.
  • Please note deposits CANNOT be sent to a Debit Card, Wire Transfer Account, or International Banks. A Debit Card number is not the same thing as an account number.
  • Next, choose either checking or savings as appropriate.
  • You must first set up your "100% of Remaining" account by selecting the checkbox, after which you can set up additional accounts to send fixed amounts.

Select the “Save” button. Congratulations! You have now determined the allocation of your net pay!

Entering FIXED Amount Accounts

  • You must first have a "100% of Remaining” account set up before you can enter a fixed amount account
  • To enter a fixed amount account follow the steps above for entering Account information
  • Please note deposits CANNOT be sent to a Debit Card, Wire Transfer Account or International Banks
  • Next choose either checking or savings as appropriate
  • Next input a fixed dollar amount > Select the “Save” button
  • For Fixed accounts do not check the 100% of remaining box

Editing existing bank accounts

  • If you haven’t done so already, follow the instructions to log in to Direct Deposit Allocation pages under the “Direct Deposit Instructions” section of this website
  • Once you have entered the Self-Service “Direct Deposit Allocation” pages > Select “Update Direct Deposit Allocation” link
  • The “Update Direct Deposit” pages will allow you to edit existing saved bank accounts by selecting the bank name hyperlink within both the “Allocation” and the “Inactive Accounts” sections.

Inactivate an existing active account:

  • Select “Update Direct Deposit Allocation” link, see above screenshot
  • Once you have entered the “Update Direct Deposit Allocation” page > Select the Bank Name hyperlink within the “Allocation” section
  • Select the checkbox next to the “Inactivate” field > Select the “Save” button

  • Confirm the change has been made by checking the “Direct Deposit Allocation” screen”.  You will now see the previously Active Bank Account now saved in the “Inactive Accounts” section.

  • Additionally check that the “Proposed Pay Distribution” section is accurate for your next pay period: (Please note that the changes you are making need to be made no fewer than 4 business days before the published pay dates found on the Payroll Schedule).

  • You no longer should see the recently “inactivated” bank showing within the “Proposed Pay Distribution” section.

Reactivate an Inactive Account

  • Once you have entered the “Update Direct Deposit Allocation” page > Select the Bank Name hyperlink within the “Inactive Accounts” section
  • Within the “Update Bank Account” page > Select the Bank Name hyperlink within the “Inactive Accounts” section
  • Uncheck the checkbox next to the “Inactivate” field > Select the “Save” button

Reactivate an Inactive Account

  • Confirm that the “Proposed Pay Distribution” section is accurate for your next pay period: (Please note that the changes you are making need to be made no fewer than 4 business days before the published Pay Dates found on our Payroll Website)
  • You will now see the recently “Activated” bank showing within the “Proposed Pay Distribution” sectionProposed Pay Distribution Check

Verify your New or Updated Bank Account Direct Deposit Information

After you have made a change to your Direct Deposit accounts or if you received an email that indicates there has been a change to your accounts follow the next steps for verification:

  • If you haven’t done so already, follow the instructions to log in to Direct Deposit Allocation pages under the “Direct Deposit Instructions” section of this website
  • Once you have entered the Self-Service Direct Deposit Allocation pages, confirm your account(s), see screenshot below.
  • If you see changes that you did not enter, contact Payroll immediatelyVerify my Direct Deposit
